Session Methods

Session methods are special functions that can be applied to individual sessions or to a group of sessions. These special functions have a predefined structure, which makes it possible to interactively select sessions from the session table and run the session methods on those selected sessions.

NANSEN comes with a set of builtin session methods, but you can also create your own methods using a predefined session method template. When using session methods, it is also possible to interactively change parameters for the method, and change the default parameters to be used.

Interactively changing parameters for session methods

When selecting a session method, there are different modes available for how to run the session method. As described in the Keyboard Shortcuts page, holding down the shift key while selecting items from the session methods menus will activate a mode for editing the parameters of that method.

In the image below, the ellipsis symbol (appears when holding down shift) indicates that when pressing the methods, a window will open where you can edit the parameters for the Flow Registration method.
