Steps to Contribute

Step 1: Download the Repository

  1. Navigate to the GitHub repository for the extension.
  2. Click on the green Code button and select Download ZIP.
  3. Extract the ZIP file to a local directory.

Step 2: Enable Developer Mode in Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Go to chrome://extensions/ in the address bar.
  3. Toggle the Developer mode switch (top-right corner).

Step 3: Load the Unpacked Extension

  1. Click on Load unpacked.
  2. Select the directory where you extracted the ZIP file.
  3. The extension will load for testing and development.

Step 4: Explore and Modify

  1. Open the directory in a code editor (e.g., VS Code).
  2. Focus on the following files:
    • manifest.json: Adjust metadata and permissions.
    • popup.html, popup.js, styles.css: Modify functionality and UI.

Step 5: Test and Debug

  1. Return to the chrome://extensions/ page after making changes.
  2. Click Reload to test updates.

Step 6: Contribute Back
