Overview

Shielding is a critical component is a high sensitivity instrument; electromagnetic interference can confound results by injecting coherent or incoherent noise into the signal path making interpretation difficult if not impossible in some cases. Specifically in the case of MPI signals are broadly within the 1kHz to 1MHz (sometimes higher, sometimes lower) range, thus it is susceptible to interference in this band.
