I am running steam os and have installed decky.

I found XR Gaming in the store and hit install. I then plugged in my virtue pro glasses (followed instructions on their academy page), navigated to the pug in icon and clicked on XR Gaming. It then said installing for a few seconds then popped up with:

There was an error during set up. Try restarting your Steam deck. If the error persists please file an issue in the deadly XR GitHub repository.

I tried restarting and I am getting the same message. I am unsure how to proceed. My knowledge of Linux is a working basic but is improving. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really would love to use these glasses with my deck this way.

Please see the correspondence in #36. The plugin does a check on the driver service and expects a pretty precise output. If you've done any tinkering on the deck that may have caused updates to your bash rc or profile files, it may be triggering some extra output from the bash shell. Let me know what you find.

If that doesn't yield any results, please provide the logs found at /home/deck/homebrew/logs/decky-XRGaming
