Download only

I downloaded all my data for the past year with:

garmindb_cli.py --all --download

Now I'd like to update and get the latest with:

garmindb_cli.py --all --download --latest

This is fine for activities, but for anything else I get "Recent monitor (or whatever) data not found", and it downloads everything again.

Is this because I haven't imported it into a database, and that's where it checks what it needs? Any ideas how I can accomplish this?
