GUI Demo does not work

The project contains the skymp-front directory.  I've explored the .js source code and have a good idea of ​​what the output should look like when accessing index.html.
In addition, I found the API for the GUI Demo and its documentation, but searching for accepted values ​​for the solution did not yield anything.  The GUI itself is built correctly, but does not work.
According to the Skyrim Platform documentation, the browser loads index.js automatically, but to test it I tried loading it manually on the first iteration.  When adding tags to html, they were displayed correctly, the path to the script and the script were also indicated correctly.  The default settings do not prevent the GUI from being displayed.
I tried compiling React manually using "npm build" and yarn according to the documentation, but that also had no effect.
How is it possible to make the GUI present in the repository work?
