Take this with a grain of salt since I'm not an electrical engineer:

  • First a RC high-pass filter to get rid of the vibrations that traveled through the rubber buffers from other pads
  • An op-amp with high impedance to avoid putting load on the (very low power) signal, also amplifying the signal by factor 20
  • A diode for half-wave rectification followed by a peak detector
  • A second op-amp buffer to avoid loading the peak detector
  • Some diodes to protect the circuit as well as the inputs of the µC/ADC
