uninstall docker desktop
update podman to latest
install podman desktop
create podman machine (resources don't matter for testing)
enable docker compatibility mode in podman desktop
install docker-desktop from brew
export DOCKER_HOST={podman path socket from podman desktop}
edit ~/.docker/config.json, change 'credsStore' to 'credStore'
