I honestly haven't heard about related entries until today, but it is also quite a long time since I read the full BibLaTeX manual last time. It seems that it shouldn't be that hard to add the support, thanks to @moewew, who offered a solution.
OP also mentioned other issues, but didn't provide a MWE for those, so it is harder to guess what is the problem. It is possible that these are other instances of newer BibaTeX features that aren't supported by out style yet.
