Hi @balasivagnanam, here is answer for similar question https://magento.stackexchange.com/a/178663/37497 . You can do it using many ways, depends on desired result. I'll recommend you to pre-define a filter in the custom collection class on the backend. Default value added through your_ui_grid.xml will be visible only during first load, then bookmarks could be changed and filter could be changed.
