Marshmallow Update: Notification Sounds Disabled

I have a Nexus 5 and recently updated to Marshmallow. With the new Android Update, when I have Screen Notifications enabled I don't get any notification sounds when my phone is locked.

Notifications include, but are not limited to:

• text messages (I use the Messenger App)
• e-mails (eg. Cloud Magic, Gmail)
• What's App

Screen still lights up and vibrations work.

Something similar. I got a custom notification tone and it stops playing the sound before it ends when a notification is received.

Edit: didn't read, you need to delay the screen or the sound stops playing.
