Have to restart plugin to get correct device status and control devices

Describe Your Problem:
HomeBridge will not show status of Insteon devices unless I restart “insteonlocal plugin”. Also, Insteon devices will react to control from HomeBridge or Home app.

@coreTech51 From your log above, the ETIMEDOUT error likely means that the plugin can't connect to your hub. Try unplugging/re-plugging (if that's a word :-)) your hub and then restart the plugin.

Thanks. I find myself having to do that over and over again to get Home to work or get a correct status. Is there anything in the settings that I can change to get it to work properly and get regular status updates? Thanks again

@coreTech51 You might try changing the keepAlive parameter in the config to a lower value and see if that helps.

I have my keepAlive set at default 3600 sec, but find that frequently the true state of devices does not show up in HomeKit, so I set a 60 second refresh rate on poling. This seems to help, but obviously adds a traffic load to the HomeBridge hub (Raspberry Pi).

Would you recommend a longer refresh rate.

This failure to update status properly also exists within the Insteon universe, as their latest app, Director, is frequently showing incorrect status information compared to the older Insteon app. And even the original app does not show correct status if devices change state while the app is open, requiring me to flip between devices/favourites screens which forces a refresh within the app.

The new owners of Insteon seem to be really serious about supporting and improving the products and ask for feedback so I am going to provide them with feedback about this issue. Perhaps a firmware upgrade to the hub might improve the whole current state updating, both within their universe, and hopefully also for HomeKit via your plugin.
