We have a Dualit AWS 6 slot toaster. It is an incredible thing that has a twist sprung timer which turns the heating element off after a specific time. With the help of a Smartthings plug that provides energy usage. From this, I can detect when the toaster is being used and when it is finished. I plan to play a chime or TTS message on the downstairs speakers.
