Loss of subdomain names after MeshCollectionGenerator

Howdy,

I'm trying to model the displacement of a 3D mesh that has a 2D contact boundary. I create both the meshes using GMSH, read in the files, and then use MeshCollectionGenerator to "combine" them. The subdomain for the 3D mesh, the second file read, aren't kept after using MeshCollectionGenerator. I can see the subdomain names before, but not after. The input file and results of --mesh-only is below. This might have something to do with #24174 but I'm not sure.

MeshCollectionGenerator is hardly used. Can you try using the CombinerGenerator instead?
