Besides one being just a quick integration, and your implemetation being an add-on. Are there practical differences in usage?

It's odd it states only 5 active installations use it, though 👀 I've been using it for a couple of years and I bet I'm not in a group of special snowflakes haha

Well... This is confusing, but I can use the standard integration with a Portuguese assistant (been using it for ages with TTS output on automations as well), while setting it in an English assistant causes errors and no sound is spoken 😂

I guess I'll try your add-on 🤷‍♂️ you won haha

The two are very similar, indeed, and the integration may be the better option in some use cases. The biggest reason to make this into an addon is so that it can also be used in a Rhasspy environment.

Glad to know that it is working though 😄
