To steward is to persistently support a specific resource or agent within a specific context.
A steward is an agent who stewards in a specific social context, such as a collective.
A collective's stewards may be identified and perceived as the official primary governors of the community. This is often a role in a team of peers, such as a board of trustees or directors.
