Definition

Relevance is a relational dimension which describes the perceived frequency, accuracy and/or intensity of relationship of a specific element to a dynamically varying form or system.

Notes

Relevance can often be identified according to the conceived probability that an element which is potential in a specific type of context will be active in specific instances of that type. (Note however that relevance can be highly specific/ localized ; e.g. if someone notes that getting gored by a wild boar is one of the risks of a specific hiking trail, the relevance of that goring might be vanishingly remote along most parts of that trail, but of low to moderate intensity on certain sections of that trail at certain times of the year; etcetera.)
