Random is a trait of unintentional elements, and may have two special meanings:
- as a trait of an element which has entered a specific context without being selected, and has no specific perceived cause(s).
- as a trait of unintentional] order which has not been designed, and has no specific perceived causes.
- Arbitrary is a closely related term which is arguably more precise and flexibly useful.
- Randomized elements will tend to be widely distributed or dispersed according to specific criteria. However, this depends on the size of a set of randomized elements, and will vary in specific instances of randomization.
- Whether or not randomness truly exists is outside of the intended scope of Modular Organization Terminology.
