Definitions

Confidence is a dimension which represents intensity of belief.

Confident is a trait of a perception which has high confidence.

Notes

The confidence of agents in concepts and statements is rationally related to how much accurate information they can access in the relevant context.

Confidence in this general MOT context can be used as a formal element, but agents will probably self-report it in most functional contexts. By contrast, statistic confidence is a strictly specialized calculation (and may eventually acquire its own MOT entry.)
