Definition

A compound process is a process which emerges from functional relationships in a specific network of two or more processes.

Notes

In design contexts, compound processes may be modeled based on perceived requirement of the component processes to the compound process. Agents may additionally identify non-required processes which provide optional recommended functions within a compound process.

Compound processes may often link various hierarchies, parallel processes and sequential processes.
