The standalone QC pipeline utility run_qc.py can potentially leave behind large temporary files (e.g. BAM, Fastqs) which could be cleaned up automatically on (successful?) pipeline completion.

The potential downside is that rerunning the pipeline will result in the files being regenerated (even when not required).
