Based on the defined JSON Schema #3, traits lists should be generated for existing DID that are in use:

  • did:peer
  • did:dht
  • did:jwk
  • did:key
  • did:web
  • did:tdw
  • did:ebsi
  • did:cheqd
  • did:polygonid / iden3
  • did:webs

Ideally, we should reference the individual DID method in the DID Extensions repository once w3c/did-extensions#602 gets resolved.

A preliminary table with a few methods has been added.

I added an experimental feature to Universal Resolver and Universal Registrar to return traits for the supported DID methods, see e.g.:

This isn't fully aligned with the schema and table here right now, but we will update that, so that the implementation matches the spec here. This repo here should probably be the "authoritative" source.

It seems "did:tdw" is now called "did:webvh" per a post from Stephen Curran on the #wg-id slack channel in DIF.
