a few people have been confused by being continually prompted for credentials at the command line, and at least one was logged into github using a different account than they cloned from, causing serious confusion when they tried to push

In regards to git credentials, we need some coverage: a number of folks at the Pycon2023 got derailed cause of changes to github that led to them being unable to proceed with the workshop due to cred issues.

I was not mentoring at the time, so I did not see the errors first hand.
If memory serves, we were able to fix the issue with Github Personal Access Tokens....
