Project Overview

Project Lighthouse aims to build a carbon emissions tracking framework using India’s GST network, starting with Tata Motors’ Scope 3 emissions for purchased goods and transportation. Our target is to complete Phase 1 with a demo scheduled for January 9-10, and then explore scalability to other industries in Phase 2.

Architecture Win Room and Schema Finalization session is scheduled for November 11th.

Current Status:

1. The L0 architecture document has been prepared and reviewed, receiving agreement from stakeholders, including Tax Genie and Tata Motors.
2. The architecture document is currently under development. Upon completion, it will be reviewed and signed off by stakeholders, with an expected completion date of 29th November 2024.

Next Steps:

1. Engineering allocation and bandwidth discussion scheduled for 27th November with Eryn and Engineering Team.
2. Eryn is expected to come prepared for the 27th November call with details of the engineering resources available from Tax Genie and Tata Motors, including their roles and responsibilities.
3. Prepare necessary flow diagrams and functional requirement specifications.
4. Assign key engineering tasks, particularly for back-end development and API integration.
5. Target dry run demo between 16th and 20th December.

Phase-1 Goal:

1. Utilize Tata Motors' supply chain data to establish an open network architecture for tracking carbon emissions across various stages of the supply chain.
2. Leverage the existing GST architecture to ensure seamless integration and efficiency in data utilization.
3. Focus on creating a specific-use case tailored for Tata Motors to demonstrate proof of concept and validate the architecture.

Further Phases and Goals:

Phase-2 (Tentative Start: February 2025):

1. Expand the architecture to a general-purpose framework that can be adopted by other organizations across industries.
2. Incorporate broader datasets and additional stakeholders to enable carbon emissions tracking across diverse supply chains.

Current Status

1. We had a discussion with the Tax Genie team, along with Eryn, to review the scope of work, resource allocation, and the Tax Genie To-Do list. Below are the details of the Minutes of Meeting (MoM).

Discussion Points:

1. FIDE Engineering Team clarified that while the team will provide technical support, debugging, and implementation guidance, the actual application development and integration will be the responsibility of the Tax Genie engineering team.
2. FIDE Engineering Team will share starter kits, example JSONs, and conduct deep-dive sessions to help the engineering team understand the requirements.
3. FIDE Engineering Team will create the implementation guide after receiving the finalized use case document, outcome visualization details, and example data from Tax Genie.
4. This guide will include mapping details, JSON examples, and Postman collections for testing.
5. Tax Genie needs to assign additional resources to manage development responsibilities based on clarified scope.
6. Weekly calls or dedicated sessions will be scheduled for engineering teams to address technical queries and implementation challenges.
7. Initial development will focus on a reporting application for end-users with plans to scale to other industries beyond the automobile sector.
8. FIDE has office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays for open technical discussions.

1. Tax Genie to finalize the use case document and share details regarding actors, transactions, and data workflows.
2. FIDE Engineering Team to start preparing the implementation guide after receiving the above inputs.
3. Tax Genie to organize internal alignment meetings and share Beckn's starter kit with their engineering team.

Current Status

No update on the Architecture document from Global Missions Team (TaxGenie). Movig this flow to next iteration ( Dec 9-Dec 22).

Current Status:

1. This flow is not prioritised by the Mission Engineering team given we are still awaiting updates/confirmation from TaxGenie on the Architecture document.
2. Eryn is working closely with Tax Genie to get the necessary documents.

Next Steps:
Once the necessary document is ready from Global Mission team this flow needs to prioritised and the timelines needs to be revisit

Moving this flow out from current iteration once its geared up with necessary documents will move this to the relevant iteration.
