Not an issue but thoughts about the metadata matching. Plex has an option to include a tag in the folder name to force a match based on the ID included. As you can already search IGDB using the game's ID could a parse rule be added for the folder names to grab that if it's included and force the match to that ID? I.E the below:
z:/Vault/Game (2020) (IGDB: 0001)
which would force IGDB ID as the metadata match. And if you ever added other sources like MobyGames, SteamGrid or the official stores similar to Playnite it would be easily expandable. And completely optional of course as I'm sure that there are some that wouldn't like that in their folder structure.
