Team preference does not work properly with only one player

I'm unable to reproduce this issue with 4f417c9. When only one player is in a waiting lobby with a team selection lobby, selecting a team consistently results in that player being placed on that team. If the player doesn't make a selection, they are consistently placed on a random team. Is the issue described here separate from that?

The issue describes is separate, yes. I would click blue wool and be assigned either red or blue randomly. Perhaps it's fixed now?
