Snowpack dev server console error: 404 - index.html

I am looking to use snowpack for development in an existing project.

Option 1 -> Use CSA and copy src and build
Issues - This is a very large production app and there is a lot of configs already build for this app which I am not fully aware. So there will be lot of things missing in CSA app and this approach will also take lot of efforts.

Option 2 -> Install Snowpack, specify config and troubleshoot issues
So I decided to use this approach and installed snowpack in the existing app. I checked if any config which I need to specify but couldn't figure this out. So I just started snowpack dev server but I am getting this below error.

I understand that the server is not able to locate index.html file because it's searching in the wrong location but I couldn't find how to specify the location of index.html to the snowpack.

I searched snowpack docs for this but could not find anything.

Can anyone help me with this?
Also, please point out if the error means something else or my approach seems wrong.

your screenshot isn't loading, but I think what you're looking for is fallback. See: https://www.snowpack.dev/#dev-options

@FredKSchott Thanks for such a quick response.

I used the fallback option to specify the location of index.html but now other js modules which are present in that file are using the incorrect path and hence giving 404.

So I think the main issue is the base path is incorrectly set and hence giving errors for all files which is what I want to fix.

I can't help debug without more info. What does the import path look like that caused the browser to request "/assets/js/load-flex-polyfil.js", and in what file did it live? (also, is that a typo?)

Here is my folder structure

So all these js files are included in index.html like so <script async type="text/javascript" src="/assets/js/load-flex-polyfil.js"></script>
Not really a typo.

These files are present in the public folder along with the index.html file and should be fetched from there. But when I see the error, I see it's directly looking inside the main application folder and not the public folder. So I think the main issue is that the base path is incorrectly set for all these files.

It seems something wrong with your config.mount?
If I don't remember it wrong, the process is looking for index.html in the folder specified in config.mount, if the request url is '/'.
could you try:
1): build an index.html in the folder to check it works. and probably you need to navigate to your develop folder in this html if you stick to this way rather than just using for debugging temporary.
2): Set your config.mount to your develop folder. If it still fails, plz try to paste your snowpack.config.js to help us figure out where the problem is.

en el archivo (snowpack.config.mjs) debes agregar la ruta de la carpeta a incluir para que el snowpacks la tome; algo asi:
mount: { public: { url: '/', static: true }, images: { url: '/images', static: true }, css: { url: '/css', static: true }, src: { url: '/dist' },
Donde la ruta de la carpeta "IMAGES y CSS" están incluidas.
