We often need to keep track of the various scientific output indexing platforms (catalogs, repositories) where publications have been collected by a university and, in the case of open science repositories, where the full-text file is available. Each of these platforms may have already aggregated and deduplicated entries from other sources, which they consider to be either totally identical, or sufficiently similar not to be considered as separate works.
OpenAlex presents us with bibliographic references linked to different sources of data or different versions of the publication through the location objects.
In the French context, ABES uses a similar concept in the Science Plus model: it uses the RDA Manifestation class and the "has work manifested" property for this purpose. On data.idref.fr, this property is used to link a reference to different Sudoc records that represent the exact same work.
