how to click on element that doesn't exist yet when page loads?

Hi,
I have a local lan webpage (proxmox hypervisor ui) that loads, then an in-page dialog requesting login appears, you fill that, press enter, it disappears and a new in-page dialog appears telling me I ain't got a sub with only OK button on it (which is what I want to autoclick). I right clicked the button, picked the element with autoclicker, and set the value for it to ClickEvents::click.

If I load the page in new tab now, autoclicker icon says error and if I enable popup on error it says it can't find the element (correctly as it doesn't exist yet), then after I log in, the login dialog goes away, the dialog with the OK button I want to auto click appears, nothing happens and autoclicker icon still shows error. If I reload the page autoclicker stays on error, it loads the ui and the dialog is gone, (either pressing Enter to confirm the OK or reloading the page gets rid of the dialog, but the whole point is I want to automate that step). I tried enabling the Repeat switch, setting repeat to 1 and every 1 second with no change.

Perhaps of note is the url looks like this https://192.168.1.44:8006/#v1:0:18:4::::::: with the numbers between the colons changing depending on what section of ui is loaded. I tried just the https://ip part and the whole thing with the numbers as they appear on the page when the dialog loads as a trigger to no avail.

I'm first to admit I don't know what I'm doing most of the time, but if there's a way to make it work how I want I'd be grateful for any pointers.

Sorry we didnt got any notification of this question you asked. If the UI is taking time to load you can add init wait which adds delay to extension allow page to load.

Hi, thanks for the reply, it's such such an obscure niche "more of an inconvenience than issue" that I didn't really hope for any reply :)

The problem here is the delay will never be a set number. The delay before the element I want to autoclick loads is completely dependent on how fast I log in. So I could be sitting on login page for hours, then log in and then the popup appears, or I could load the page, press login and see the popup within few seconds.

I was hoping I could set the autoclick extension to constantly monitor the page and react to the one element should it appear (and alternatively stop monitoring after that), but again perhaps I am needlessly overthinking things to save 1 keypress each login.

You can do same using Retry and Retry Interval under action settings.

Set Retry -2 for infinite retry
Set Retry Interval 1 or any sec as per your requirement.

This way extension will keep on finding that button for loop.

Few more important things.

Extension start when page is freshly loaded and stop once all action are completed.

Sorry for late reply, but this worked. Although now I struggle with coming up with good rule as mouseclick on #button-1005 keeps clicking all OK buttons in the ui - I guess the element is being reused, but that's outside the scope of this discussion.
