No feedback when producing on a topic that has no producer

Particularly relevant in dev-mode, but probably in any mode.

If you attempt to send a message to a topic that has no producer attached to it, the adapter will silently discard your message.

It would be good to log that this topic has no producer (error or warning?). Or perhaps in dev-mode create the producer and add it for the topic dynamically.
