Connected my controller to my console
Was force-fed an update
After reconnecting to my PC, bully refused to recognize my controller both on clean installs and my fully functioning modded install that had been running up until this point
Connected back to console and reverted firmware
Issue resolved

I did observe that steam seemed to have more information regarding the controller today after the update
It seemed to have information as to what specific console 1 s/x series x/s or whatever shenanigans were tied to the controller
Maybe this is potentially causing an issue I have no clue, however it seems that the firmware is the issue
The controllerS continued to function fine in the few other titles I tried out when I was trying to debug what was going on with bully specifically.

This would be a steam controller compatibility issue, not SPBully.

EDIT: or just Bully jank in general, not something directly tied to this patch.

both controllers played all other steam games i tried just fine
seems specifically to be bully jankiness
the same sort of jankiness i understood this patch aimed to correct
i can play still so I'm happy, but i dont think anyone new with an up to date controller will be able to

This patch aims to correct memory management issues / crashing.
It doesn't try to fix anything else beyond that scope.
