We're happy that in a few days, Evelution will be available as a skin choice for Miraheze Wikis as an alternative to the existing Cosmos skin.
Evelution will be updated on a weekly basis on Miraheze so the latest tweaks will not come right away when a new release comes out.
With Evelution, you will be able to explore many preset color forced color schemes to suit your needs and in addition, there's a Standard color scheme which while it comes predefined for you, you may modify this color scheme on your wiki by putting some code to
MediaWiki:Common.cssorMediaWiki:Evelution.css, whichever you prefer. The same stylesheets can also be used to customize the layout.For new and existing wikis that intend to enable Evelution, only Logo and Wordmark (If preset) will be the out-of the box theming that will be presented as the Standard color scheme will be the four Evelution default themes.
Note that Evelution has its own Theme Designer for easily creating themes and getting the theme code. You can point to the CPE_ThemeDesigner article (The same link can be found in the bottom toolbar) to get started. To try the theme, press the Test theme button. To copy out the theme code, press the Copy theme code button.. While testing out the custom theme, you can change theme slots (Between A to D) to change Copy theme code button behavior. The copied theme code should be put in
MediaWiki:Common.cssorMediaWiki:Evelution.css, whichever you prefer. You can paste the current active theme by pressing the Paste current theme button. When testing out your new themes, always check them against contrast. If a banner about incompatible colors didn't appear, you're ready for applying the new theme. Otherwise, readjust the required colors to be better.In addition, it is enchanted for Miraheze. While preserving the very same layout, we put a Miraheze Meta link to the left sidebar.
As usual, you decide whether you will read articles using fixed or full width. You also have control whether Sticky Nav, Bottom Toolbar and/or Right Rail will be visible or not. And you can control the theme-wide behavior between Duo Light, Duo Dark, Solo Light or Solo Dark. Duo color modes use both modes while Solo color modes use only one mode (Light or Dark, whichever you prefer)
Evelution launches on Miraheze between 14th to 15th of September!!!
